Victor Zheng | USA
Victor Zheng graduated from the University of Virginia double majoring in History and Chinese. He has had the opportunity to study abroad in college six times through various means, such as scholarships and self-support. Victor hopes to explore the realms of international journalism and perhaps one day become a foreign correspondent.
1. What, if any, books are you currently reading?
I am currently reading “Beasts of No Nation” by Uzodinma Iweala and several history books on the Second-Sino Japanese War.
2. Alma Mater(s)?
Graduated from the University of Virginia.
3. If you could wake up one day with a super power, what would it be?
I would wake up with the ability where I would be able to communicate with everyone and everywhere, something like a cheat to get across language barriers. In other words, if there was a language learning super power, that’s what I would want.
4. Why do you travel?
To exchange in cross-cultural exchange, learn humility, learn about a world,put myself in situations that are both challenging, uncomfortable, unfamiliar, and rewarding.
5. Plane or train?
I am quite a train person. I enjoy being close up to landscapes and being able to observe them up close.
